Tri‑n‑butyl phosphate is an alkyl phosphate used as a
solvent/extractant (e.g., metal separations) and as a specialty
non‑halogenated flame‑retardant plasticizer. Verify extraction
efficiency, phase behavior, and FR performance in your specific
system. Avoid moisture ingress and prolonged alkaline/acidic
exposure that can promote hydrolysis.

| Item | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| DG classification | Non‑DG liquid (typical) | check carrier/route; combustible liquid |
| Handling | standard chemical hygiene | avoid mist; use LEV; prevent environmental release |
| Incompatibilities | strong acids/bases, oxidizers | may hydrolyze; avoid moisture |
| PPE | gloves, goggles; lab coat | consult SDS for first aid and disposal |
| Transport packing | tight head drums/IBCs | ensure clean/dry lines |
Information is representative; consult SDS and your lot COA. For extraction programs, specify target metals/system, phase ratio, and dryness requirements in RFQs.
